Uncertainty...

Life is full of colour and vibrancy, but poverty and diseases still plague the world.
Life is full of happiness and blissfulness, but sadness and sorrow are still felt.
Life is full of challenges and obstacles, but no one dares to raise to the occasion.
As I embark on the journey of life, I wonder whom I would share my eternity with.

Settling Well in my job...

I'm glad that I am settling well in my job as a admin assistant after working for slightly more than 1 month in a company that specialises in property management and consultant, legal advisory services.

When I first started work, I thought that my work was no more than typing simple letters, filing papers etc. Nowadays, I work closely with the property managers or property officers and assist them in their routine works, basically helping them with their never-ending paper work, preparing their files for morning briefing, making phone calls. Once, my manager even brought me to the site for me to get an idea of what their job scope is.

Working in such a company made me a better person in terms of admin work, organisation and had more knowledge of the limitations in living in a Condo. I even applied some of the things I learnt from work like having a 'In' tray, outstanding file etc...

My lady boss had a honours degree studying law and had established the company for close to 35 years. Heard that she is a multi-millionaire as she deals with stocks and properties. She even has connections with the PM, MM and other big shots and her husband was once a major shareholder of a private bank.

My colleagues are very friendly and warm to me, offering their help whenever I'm in trouble. I even got one of my NS bunk mates, Terence who is working with me.

This job provides some flexibility in the sense that if u have some commitments on certain days, u can go off earlier but u must compensate by working longer on other days. For my tuition classes, I go off half an hour earlier on Mon, Wed and Thu and compensate on Sat where I worked till 2 plus instead of 1pm.

New year has past in a breeze and it's working time tmr....

At the Crossroads once again...

Blame it on my indecisiveness or peer influence if you want to ask why I'm in a dilemma over which course to study in University. Faculty of Science or School of Engineering? I was so afraid that I would make the wrong choice, end up in a wrong course and get into a career which I have no interest in.

When the idea of changing courses struck me 2 weeks ago, it left me in a state of confusion and I could not sleep well on some days. I consulted a few who are currently studying in University.

One who studies Electrical Engineering in NTU says that the prospect is great especially if u specialise in wafer technology. I even access the NTU e-portal to view what the Electrical Engineering students are studying - The course contents Eg: Analogue electronics, digital electronics etc. The point of prospect is again supported by my gf, who showed me the materials she got from a recent career fair. It clearly shows that Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Chemical Engineering are favourites among the companies and they have great prospects and a bright future.

The other friend of mine who is studying Science in NUS says that what she studies very theoretical and the prospect varies depending on what u specialise in. Nevertheless, I still find my passion lying in Chemistry.

After due consideration, I felt that it was better for me to fall back on what I was offered initially and put my heart and soul in it.
