ICT aftermath...

I had an enjoyable time during ICT, chatting with my frenz who been thru NS with me...some of them I knew right from the start of NS, from BMTC, some through sispec, some through School of Armour, and some through my unit 40 SAR back then...

Since this was my first ICT, the pace was ok, quite slack as I didnt went outfield...had several canteen breaks until I sian also...like the olden days, waiting time was inevitable, some days my program ended as early as 3pm and I got really nothing to do after that!!!!

Days in camp were boring, and dull comparing days spent outside as a civilian...It's undeniable that the best part was to get to meet and see everyone but still the thought of being trapped in camp was the real 'demoraliser'....the ICT ended with a mobilization exercise at Pasir Ris camp!!! We actually book out on Friday afternoon after a walk the ground at Pasir Ris camp and got mobilised on Sat itself...sian...somewhere end of july might have another mobilisation...the code for my unit is silent panther and bold passage...

Days outside camp is spent working..my reponsibilites include delivery of magazines, purchase of stationery (requires driving to the shop at Victoria St), keeping track and reorganizing the warehouse inventory, admin work, etc...its like a multi task job...its tiring at times, but I learnt lots of things, especially during the book fair and how tp maintain a good warehouse inventory lists etc....

Its less than 2 months before school resumes in mid August..time really flies right...

world book fair...

right now I am about 2 weeks into the job, helping out at the World book fair @ suntec...its coming to an end soon this sunday, but I think I would only help out for half a day bcos the following Monday I need to report to camp by 7.30am for ICT (in camp training) or reservist. ICT will end on sat evening I suppose, then after that it will be back to work for me again before term starts in August.....

I am getting increasingly tired these days working at the book fair, with no shifts but only a short break during meal time. Sometimes, I'm so busy that I forgot the time and missed lunch/dinner...A typical day starts when I picked up one of my colleague at jurong east at around 10.15am, den maybe picking up my boss and/or her maid at the office(bt merah) or at her house (normantan park) before going to suntec. The fair begins at 11am where sales are slow when the crowd is quiet and better usually around late afternoon. Sales was quite good the first few days, but decreasing as we go along. Like yesterday or today, sales hit over $3000, excluding the sales using nets/visa...

I am in charge of the games where children come along with their parents, and there I am explaining how to play the game, what game(s) are suitable for them, the special promotion and stuff. Our main attraction is the Young scientists and highlights magazine, targeted at primary school kids. Occasionally, I get challenged to the games by kids and I would always promise them that if they were to win me, they will get a free ice-cream or free mac meal for some....but I have never lost...haha...

And sometimes I will be out making deliveries to popular, buying lunch/dinner for everyone...so excuse me if u are coming to give me a surprise...haha....at the end of the day, usually will reach home before 10.45am or earlier if we 'close shop' earlier if there is no crowd...and i usually drive faster on the way home to reach earlier...
