Technology evolution

The sophistication of technology has increased tremendously over the past few years or rather the past decades. Take for example, the creation of 3G army that emphasises more on the use of technology during warfare and peacetime training & operations...

Yesterday, which was the second day of my block leave (last till this Sunday), I went to Sim Lim Square. The last time I went there was June last year. Which means I the pace of technology is ahead of me by almost 1.5 years...

I went there with the intention of checking out the price of DVD-RW writers for I may be purchasing one this coming Saturday at Sitex, an annual computer exhibition held at expo. The reason I need one is because my fren has compiled all the ROC photos (Both trg and R&R) in DVD format and only a DVD optical drive can read it. If I am not wrong, the pictures in the DVD dics amounted close to 4GB in total (Thousands over photos/video).

Writers nowadays are so cheap compared to those in the past. When I was in Sec 3, I brought an Acer 24x12x24 CD-RW for $150. Now, a 52X32x52 CD-RW costs $40. But people are getting DVD-RW drives as they can record/rewrite up to 8.5GB of space which is equivalent to about 12 CD-R dics. Thus, more people will turn to DVD-RW drives as it can store more chunks of information in various formats.

DVD writers also come with double and dual layer formats which means both sides of the dics can be utilised and each side has 2 layers, contributing up to 8.5GB of storage space. The more expensive DVD writers have 'lightscribe' capabilities, enabling you to design the cover of your dics.

I also took this opportunity to enquire about the sales of an obsolete AMD processor that supports a 362 socket. I was told that this product has been phased out in the market and it will be an uphill task to find u. Even if I had found one, the price might be expensive as the supply is low.

Sad to say, due to intense competition among retailers, some shops that I used to patronise have ceased their operations while some shifted their units in a bid to get lower rental rates.
Business is not as good as the olden days I would say, evident from the shrinking of shop sizes and the no. of employees hired.

As an added precaution, I brought a Sim card reader for $23 to backup my hp contacts just in case my phone let me down one day. With the program that is bundled with the reader, I can edit/change/delete my contacts, my inbox and even change my pin. However, those precious msg that I have in my folder cant be access as they are not stored in my sim card.

Technology has proliferated so much today. One has to constantly upgrade himself inorder not to lose touch with technology...

What kind of intelligence do I have?

Your Dominant Intelligence is Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence

You are naturally athletic and coordinated, good at making your mind and body work together.
Sports are fun and easy for you, especially those requiring good hand - eye coordination.
There's also a good chance you're a great dancer, or good at expressing yourself through body language.
You learn best by doing, and you feel like you've always got to be moving (even if it's just your hands).

You would make a good athlete, physical education teacher, dancer, actor, firefighter, or artisan.
