NUS Sports Camp....
just went for a sports camp organised by the NUS FOS science club...if not for the rain for the few days, the games or sports we played could have been more enjoyable...dun organise such a camp during the monsoon season...
Day 1
Suppose to meet at 7.30am at east coast, but most came strolling in at 9am...den we gathered at 10am for some briefing followed by tent pitching...soon after heavy rain came...while the rain subsided, my group was the only one playing captain's ball in the rain...afternoon we did dragon boating at Kallang...it was so cold that all of us shiver if we stop paddling....den we had a mini race among 4 teams and came in second...with another guy in my team, we were the pacers and sat in the front as we did dragon boating before....we didn't get to play cage soccer indoor and proceeded to play touch rubgy behind indoor stadium...
It was a blessing in disguise as we had the chance to go back school for BBQ and spent a night there as our tents were all flooded...though my bag was placed inside trash bag, the water somehow managed to get in...and my bag was much more heavier! bcos my clothes were all wet!
when I took out my jacket and towel, water was dripping down from it..I grabbed hold of about 6 chairs and aired my clothes... imagine how wet it was..
We had a shower den BBQ followed by F&B...basically everyone is assigned a food...i was assigned 'cream'...I was blindfolded and introduced to another 'cream' from another group who was my secret pal...thereafter we spent the night in LT25....
Day 2
we had to take own transport back to east coast for wind surfing...quite interesting but once I got up the platform, I fell into the water....no good wind for the day to sail...Lunch was exactly the same for both days, rice with veggie with meat and it sucks but still better than Tekong food...
Den I roller bladed for the first time..fell twice on my butt but it didn't hurt bcos my hands were fast enough to break fall....one of the girls in my team had bruises on her face as she fell head first while trying to help another girl who fell....
Evening time we boarded a ship from marine pier to sister's island...small island with no electricity but luckily got water to shower....all the 'cream' from all groups came together and we got to know our sp...the guys did the field cooking for the girls and we played eco challenge where we were given clues and we had to go round the island to look for matrices....only till the end my sp discovered that I was actually her sp..lol...the game ended at 2am and we sleep under a shelter adjacent to the beach till 9 plus the next day...
Day 3
Telematch was canceled and we had a prize presentation and the 'cream' was the best group for the ECO challenge!!! there were actually monkeys in the island...and the bigger ones would chase after the smaller ones for food if we throw it at them....back on the island, I could clearly see all the big ships cruising by and the waves were blocked because the island had lagoons...sentosa is actually a lagoon also...i dunno how it works but the big waves just dun get to go past the rocks....den it was home sweet home!!!
